I'm annoyed that we were shown an essentially unfinished cut though.FilmFanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02891478538865404415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15193298.post-1138170598042445782006-01-25T06:29:00.000+00:002006-01-25T06:29:00.000+00:00Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. It seems all the Terrence Malick devotees I know approve with flying colors, which now includes you, sir!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15193298.post-1138158467983198222006-01-25T03:07:00.000+00:002006-01-25T03:07:00.000+00:00you know i have mixed feelings about this.I really...you know i have mixed feelings about this.

I really enjoyed the movie in the initial cut (and the only reason it didn't make my top ten list is they made me wait until like a day before and I had no time to mull it over) but i really resent that the critics and press are SUPPOSED to comment on its merits when it's not finished.

I guess I'm angry about the whole thing even though i love the movie. I think it should be ineligible for Oscars actually since it's a different version now than the one they were supposed to have voted on.

i don't know if i'm making any sense. but, yeah, i'll be seeing the update.NATHANIEL Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11597109147678235399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15193298.post-1138129021041006342006-01-24T18:57:00.000+00:002006-01-24T18:57:00.000+00:00For better and for worse, I imagine it's exactly t...For better and for worse, I imagine it's exactly the kind of longer cut you'd normally expect to turn up on DVD. As an initiation experience it did leave something to be desired. That's my figleaf, anyway, and I'm sticking to it! (And I can only assume that non-journalist audiences who missed the initial holiday release of the longer version, like I did, will have to wait until DVD to catch it. I hope we're given that chance, at least!)NicksFlickPickshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04607501848596529493noreply@blogger.com
