Wooooo. Like Nick I have this film much higher on the list, which may partly be a result of my lack of movie-watching. I watch movies like crazy, but I'm so young and still have a loooong way to go.
someday in the not terribly distant future, the Oscars will be just as embarrased about ignoring this as they are about stiffing stuff like Singin' in the Rain and Some Like It Hot for Best Picture nominations.
Fair enough, but I ought to point out this isn't an enduring appeal list. It's a 100-movies-I-love-the-most right-now list. And American Beauty never had a hope in hell of getting on!

Hallelujah! This is on my list too, but much higher, perhaps even deliriously so.
Definitely agree with this one, possibly my favorite film at the moment. I've seen it four times now and every time it moves me more.
