I don't know that this is the greatest film of all time but it's as strong a candidate as just about any other picture. I approve. ;)
As far as my rankings go, I think this would be somewhere in the Top 20.

(By the way you'd love my Film and Philosophy subject, we're covering half of your Top 10 in 12 weeks, including Thin Red Line.)

Thanks Mylo, who people may have worked out is my brother. The caption to this final choice suddenly got a bit poignant in an unasked-for way, as I found out a few minutes ago that our grandpa's died. I'm going home for a few days, and probably won't be posting or commenting much till after the weekend. Take care everyone.

I'm very sorry to hear that, Tim. Condolences to you and your family. I lost my grandfather earlier this year too and I miss his frequent raptures about how great a dancer Jimmy Cagney was.
