This is all very exciting.
One day, when I grow up, I wanna go to the Berlinale. In the meantime I have to experience it vicariously through you, so I hope your dispatches are regular and detailed.

have you really seen all these movies? Some of them hadn't even screened when you posted their grades. For example "In Memory of Myself" didn't screen until the 11th and 'When a Man Falls in the Forest' didn't screen until the 12th and you posted this on the 9th. Are you basing your grades on titles alone? Just curious...

I'll interject here on Tim's behalf and say that the entry first went up on Feb. 9, but he's been updating every day since then as he catches up with the latest screenings. (That, or he's absconded with the Primer machine, but I'm guessing the former.)

Meanwhile, I am so excited that the grade for The Fall is so high!!! Excited and surprised. In the best ways. I still don't see an American release slated anywhere, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Yes, I've been updating daily. Believe me, I've been seeing all the films! I have a press pass so I get to see some of them early too.

I'm almost certainly overgrading The Fall, but when it's good it's mindblowing, the central performance blew me away, and I give it a lot of points for being a truly independent labour of love, shot in 26 countries, 12 years in the making, etc etc. The Fountain eat your heart out. Distributors have apparently been put off buying it by a couple of very hostile trade reviews in Toronto, but the clamour starts here. You need to see this film.

two As already. That's better than I did in Toronto. Festivals are so weird. Have fun...

Really sorry to see the grade for the new Paul Schrader film. I was hoping it would be a return to form.

Must remember to ask you tomorrow what was so bad about the Park film.
